Letter from the Editor
Nyob zoo suav
daws. For the past 15 years, HmoobTeen Magazine became the forum where Hmong
teens from across the country could address issues affecting their lives. As
the premier place to speak and be heard,
HmoobTeen not only try to reduce isolation among teens but the magazine sought
to provide resources and coping methods for its readers. With over 20,000
readers per issue, HmoobTeen has had its share of successes and challenges.
This year, we transitioned from a print magazine to an online ezine. Though the
transition was essential to reach more Hmong teens, we were faced with
challenges beyond our control.
I am sad to announce, HmoobTeen Magazine
will be put on hold for an undefined period of time. Hmong American Partnership
made the decision to put the magazine on hold after the fall 2011 issue. This
decision was not an easy one. HAP understands the need for HmoobTeen to exist
and the vital role it plays in the lives of Hmong teens. This is without
saying; HAP will seek to restructure the magazine to withstand economic challenges while at the same time creating a foundation for long-term
success.
Readers will continue to have access to
HmoobTeen’s website: hmoobteen.hmong.org to read past issues. Our email account
hmoobtm@hmong.org will be checked on a regular basis.
On behalf of HAP and the editorial team,
thank you for your support during this challenging time.
Sincerely,
Sai Vang
